Understanding how Grimoria tracks individual cards in your collection.
Card Instances
When you add a card, Grimoria creates a card instance — a specific entry with its own condition, finish, language, and location. The same card can exist multiple times:
- Lightning Bolt (Near Mint, English, in Trade Binder)
- Lightning Bolt (Played, English, in Root Collection)
- Lightning Bolt (Foil, Near Mint, Japanese, in Foil Binder)
Each instance is tracked separately for value calculations. Copies also carry your own annotations — tags, a marker icon, and copy details such as grading or a custom price.
Viewing Details
Click any card in your collection to open the Card Details modal. Here you'll see:
- Card image and oracle text
- Current market prices, all printings, rulings and legalities
- Collection — Your copies, grouped by where they live (binders, deck boxes, wishlists), each row with condition, finish, language, tags and value. Swipe a row (or use its ⋯ menu) to edit, move or remove copies, or open the full editor to change printing, quantity, price and annotations
- History — Every movement of this card in your collection: when it was added, moved between containers or removed, and where it came from (scan, import, manual entry)
- Similar and Combos — Alternatives and known combos
Stepping Through a List
Opened the modal from a grid or list? The left/right arrows, the chevrons under the image, or a horizontal swipe on mobile move to the neighbouring card without closing it.
