Understanding how Grimoria tracks individual cards in your collection.

Card Instances

When you add a card, Grimoria creates a card instance — a specific entry with its own condition, foil status, language, and location. The same card can exist multiple times:

  • Lightning Bolt (Near Mint, English, in Trade Binder)
  • Lightning Bolt (Played, English, in Root Collection)
  • Lightning Bolt (Foil, Near Mint, Japanese, in Foil Binder)

Each instance is tracked separately for value calculations.

Viewing Details

Click any card in your collection to open the Card Details modal. Here you'll see:

  • Card image and oracle text
  • Your collection instances with conditions and locations
  • Current market prices
  • All available printings
  • Rulings and legalities
