Encyclopedia

The Encyclopedia reads every Magic card for what it actually does and files it under the mechanics it uses — keywords, archetypes, synergies, triggers and roles.

Browsing

Discover > Encyclopedia opens a contents index of every feature, grouped by type, with the number of cards behind each. Every feature has its own page listing the cards that use it, plus their colour, mana-curve and rarity distribution. Use the search line to jump to a keyword, archetype or synergy by name.

The Explorer

Open the Explorer to combine features: pick several and only cards matching all of them are shown. Stack a sacrifice payoff with a token maker, add a colour, set or price filter, or restrict the results to your own collection. On phones the controls live in the bottom-bar sheets so the card grid keeps the screen.

Card Pages

Every card page includes:

• Oracle text — The official, up-to-date rules text
• Rulings — Official judge rulings and clarifications
• Legalities — Which formats the card is legal, restricted, or banned in
• All printings — Every set this card has appeared in, with different art
• Price history — Charts showing price trends over time
• Similar cards — AI-powered suggestions for cards with similar effects
• Combos — Known combos this card takes part in

Collection Awareness

If you're logged in, cards you own carry an owned badge in every grid, and the Explorer can be limited to your collection — handy for finding what you already have for a theme.

Budget Alternatives

For expensive cards, the encyclopedia shows budget alternatives — cheaper cards that serve a similar purpose in your deck. These suggestions are powered by our Neo4j similarity engine.
