Commander Search & Generator
Find the perfect commander for your next EDH deck — then let Grimoria draft the 99.
Searching for Commanders
The commander page lists every legendary creature and planeswalker that can lead a deck. Filter by:
- Color identity — Find commanders in your preferred color combination
- Type — Legendary Creatures, Planeswalkers with commander ability
- Theme — Popular archetypes like tribal, combo, voltron, and more
Feeling lucky? The dice button picks a random commander.
EDHREC Integration
Each commander shows data from EDHREC including popularity ranking and commonly played cards. This helps you discover:
- What staples go well with your commander
- Budget-friendly alternatives for expensive cards
- Popular deck strategies and win conditions
Generating a Deck
Pick a commander (partner pairs are supported) and Grimoria assembles a full 99 from EDHREC community data:
- Target bracket — Choose Core, Upgraded or Optimized. The bracket decides how many game changers are included and keeps two-card combos, mass land denial and extra-turn chains out where the bracket forbids them
- Pins — Force any card into the deck with the must-include search; it is seeded first and never regenerated away
- Collection search — Prefer printings you already own
- Refine — On the generated list, pin cards you like, exclude ones you don't, or swap a card through the suggestions panel, which stays inside the commander's colour identity. Game-changer and Reserved List badges and a Combos tab help you judge the result
When you are happy, save it as a deck idea and keep tuning it in the Deckbuilder.
